There are 5 main Gold Coast Theme Parks and all of them will provide you and your family with a fun filled day out.
Dreamworld and WhiteWater World are probably two of the best of these Gold Coast Theme Parks.
Dreamworld is a large, exciting amusement park with lots of attractions and rides for all the family. It is home to the Big 6 Thrill Rides which should provide more than enough adventure for the adrenalin junkies. There are also plenty of exciting but not so scary rides for everybody else and two wonderful areas for the younger members of the family.
Dreamworld is much more than just a theme park with its very own wildlife park featuring Tiger Island and the Australian Wildlife Experience. Here you will get a chance to see lots of native Australian wildlife such as koalas, kangaroos and crocs to mention just a few.
WhiteWater World is a wonderful water park with a range of exciting water rides, a wave pool which has waves of up to 1.5 metres at times during the day and Wiggle Bay and the Nickelodeon Pipeline Plunge for the kids.
There are various ticket options for these two parks depending on how often you want to visit them. You can buy one day tickets, the World Pass which is a two day ticket allowing you to move between Dreamworld and WhiteWater World as often as you like or even an annual pass. There is also a ticket which allows you early entrance to the Big 6 Thrill Rides meaning that you can experience these rides first thing in the day without any queues. Buying online will save you queuing when you get there.
These two Gold Coast Theme Parks are located next to each other at Coomera, 17km north of Surfers Paradise and 48km south of Brisbane. There is plenty of free parking if you are going by car and a range of public transport options depending on where you are going from. Many Gold Coast hotels have shuttle buses going to and from the park throughout the day.
Sea World, Wet n Wild and Warner Bros Movie World are the other main Gold Coast Theme Parks.
Sea World is an oceanarium and an aquarium with a small amusement park and a small water park all rolled into one. It doesn’t have as many rides as some of the other Gold Coast Theme Parks but it has the most amazing Shark area and the only Polar Bears in Australia. You can also spend the night in the lovely four star Sea World resort.
The Wet n Wild water park has an excellent range of water rides and slides with plenty to keep all the family entertained from the H2O Zone with lots of extreme rides to the Buccaneer Bay for the kids.
Warner Bros Movie World brings a little bit of Hollywood to the Gold Coast with rides such as the Batwing Spaceshot and Lethal Weapon Rides for the thrill seekers and the Loony Tunes River Ride and Road Runner Rollercoaster. You will also meet some of your favourite characters at the All Stars Parade which takes place every day.
Again there are many ticket options such as one day or two day general admission tickets to a combined pass for Sea World, Wet ‘n’ Wild and Warner Bros Movie World. You should plan in advance which one you want before you buy as there are good discounts to be had for multiple passes. Buying online will save you queuing when you get there.
Wet n Wild and Warner Bros Movie World are located next to each other in Oxenford on the M1 Pacific Motorway 20km north of Surfers Paradise and 50km south of Brisbane. There is plenty of free parking and a range of public transport options depending on where you are going from.
Sea World is located on The Spit in Main Beach just 3km north of Surfers Paradise. There is plenty of free parking and there is a bus stop right outside the entrance with buses coming from all of the main Gold Coast destinations such as Coolangatta and Burleigh Heads.
