Coffs Harbour Accommodation

Being a popular holiday destination there is a wide range of Coffs Harbour accommodation set up for people who are holidaying there.

Caravan Parks in Coffs Harbour

Some of the most popular Coffs Harbour accommodation options are caravan parks and there are a few in and around Coffs Harbour. For us the Park Beach Holiday Park is the best of the Coffs Harbour Caravan Parks as it is close to both Park Beach and the harbour and yet is not too far from the town.  It has various levels of cabins and villas as well as plenty of powered and unpowered sites with plenty of shade.  Its facilities include a pool with slides, a children’s playground and an excellent camp kitchen with plenty of fridges, tables and chairs and free BBQs.

Banana Coast Caravan Park is right next to the Pacific Highway which for me is not the perfect location. However it does have a range of cabins both with ensuite and shared facilities and powered sites for caravans but it is not a good option if you are in a tent. There is a pool, children’s playground and a BBQ area.

Harbour City Holiday Park has taken over from Coffs Harbour Tourist Park which I wasn’t impressed with at all. I can’t pass any judgement on this site as I haven’t visited it under its new management.

Koala Villas and Caravan Park is located just off the Pacific Highway next to the Boambee Creek about 5km south of Coffs Harbour. It has a range of cabins, onsite caravans and powered and unpowered sites all in beautiful, shady surrounds. Facilities include a pool, a covered BBQ area, a children’s play area and a small camp kitchen with a fridge. There is a bike path right at the entrance which takes you to Coffs Harbour in one direction and Sawtell in the other. If you are hoping to see some Australian wildlife this is probably the best caravan park in the area for you.

An alternative to this is Moonee Beach Holiday Park which is 13km from Coffs Harbour. It is quite a small site but is in a wonderful setting right next to Moonee Creek which is great for calm water swimming. There is a camp kitchen which has electric BBQs, kettles, a microwave and a fridge. The nearest shops and pub is about a 15 minute walk so it does have a “get away from it all” atmosphere.

Backpackers Hostels in Coffs Harbour

For people looking for budget Coffs Harbour accommodation then one of the Backpackers hostels in Coffs Harbour may be the best choice. The Coffs Harbour YHA is just off Orlando Street and is quite close to the jetty beach and the harbour but a bit of a walk from the town centre. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the hostel is very clean and modern and has its own pool. They offer free collection from the bus station.

Aussitel Backpackers is in a good location not far from the harbour and jetty but again is quite a distance from the town centre. They offer free shuttles buses to town and the bus station and have free internet, bikes and body boards. There is a dive shop next door which is associated with the hostel so if you want to dive this could be the best place for you.

Barracuda Backpackers is another reasonably well located hostel which offers free transport to and from the bus and train stations. It has a swimming pool, a free pool table and internet access in the reception area. There are private rooms with shared bathrooms as well as 4 and 6 bed dorm.

Another Coffs Harbour Backpackers hostel is the Hoey Moey which is on Ocean Parade and less than 100m walk to Park Beach but is a bit more like a motel.

Coffs Harbour Motels

Other Coffs Harbour accommodation that you will find plenty of are motels and apartments. You’ll find many of them on and around Ocean Parade which is only a short walk to Park Beach.  Also there are a lot just off the Pacific Highway to the south of the town near the Visitors Centre.

A couple that may be of interest to you are the Coachmens Inn Motel which is right on Park Beach Road. This motel offers good deals for double rooms. All rooms have a TV and DVD player, tea and coffee making facilities and wifi internet access.

The Formule 1 Coffs Harbour is an excellent option if price is your main concern as this motel offers some very economical deals. All rooms are en-suite and there is a small pool for guests to use.

The Park Beach Cabins are very economical one and two bedroom cabins only 150m from Park Beach. There is a BBQ area and a saltwater pool in the complex and it is very near the bowling club which is a good place to eat and drink.

Take a look at the official Coffs Coast website for more information about Coffs Harbour accommodation.
