5 Star Brisbane Hotels
If you are looking for one of the 5 star luxury Brisbane hotels then you will probably have to stay in or very near the city centre which should not be a problem as this is where many of the good restaurants, bars and shops are located. There are a few hotels in this category to choose from.
The Stamford Plaza Brisbane is well located near the Brisbane river and Eagle Street Pier with its range of excellent, top-end restaurants. The views from the rooms in this hotel are beautiful and it is home to the Kabuki Japanese restaurant which gets rave reviews.
The Sofitel Brisbane near Central Station is another luxurious hotel which has some of the most comfortable beds in all of Brisbane if not Australia. They are tailor made for the hotel and you will feel like you are floating on air when you lie on yours. The Stephanies Spa resort is another reason to choose this hotel and they offer specially created packages including various treatment options.
Perhaps you would prefer the Marriott Brisbane with its super friendly, helpful staff and its wonderful location right next to the Brisbane River on Queen Street. It has a pool and fitness centre for the more energetic customers who want to burn off some calories.
Another option is the Hilton Brisbane with its spacious and chic rooms and its heated pool, fitness centre and tennis court. It is also very central and the higher up rooms have great views over the city centre to the river.
If you are looking for a luxury hotel near the airport the Brisbane Riverview Hotel is the best option. It is located in Hamilton near Portside and not too far from Brisbane airport. It is not as classy as the hotels in Brisbane city centre but does have a good pool and gym and is quite near the Breakfast Creek Hotel which is famous for its steaks.
4 Star Brisbane Hotels
Perhaps you don’t want 5 star luxury or prices and would prefer one of the 4 star Brisbane hotels.
If you are arriving in Brisbane at the Roma Street Transit Centre then the Holiday Inn Brisbane is a great option as it is directly above the Centre. You don’t have to worry about the noise from the trains as the sound proofing is excellent. Many of the rooms offer great views over Roma Street Parklands.
The Mercure Hotel Brisbane is another good option in this category and is located next to the Brisbane River opposite the Queensland Museum and Queensland Art Gallery and is not too far from Queen Street Mall. The Quays restaurant in the hotel does a wonderful Seafood Buffet.
The 4.5 star Grand Chancellor Brisbane is in Spring Hill a short distance from the CBD but beware it is all uphill from the CBD to the hotel. It is a very well equipped hotel and even has a pool on the roof. If you are going to an event in the Suncorp Stadium this hotel is a good option as it is only about a twenty minute walk from the stadium.
If you prefer to be in South Bank near the Cultural Centre then Rydges South Bank is the choice for you. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and well equipped with microwave, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities and the buffet breakfast is not to be missed.
4 Star Brisbane Hotels/Apartments
There are also some excellent 4 star Brisbane hotels which are a cross between hotels and apartments with all the luxury of a hotel but with cooking areas and perhaps even living areas making them a great option if you are in the Brisbane for any extended period.
The Rendezvous Hotel Brisbane has some hotel style rooms which have a microwave, tea and coffee making facilities and a DVD player. It also has apartments with very well equipped kitchens. This hotel is housed in a wonderful heritage building just across from Central Station.
There are two Sebel Suites in Brisbane and these both offer apartments style rooms but with 4 star hotel facilities. They have a small kitchen, a living room and are cleaned daily unlike most serviced apartments which are cleaned weekly.
The Sebel Suites Brisbane is only a short walk from Queen Street Mall and also very near the Botanical Gardens. The rooms on the higher floors have great views especially at night and the staff are very friendly and will be happy to give you suggestions of what to do while you are in Brisbane.
The Sebel Citigate King George Square Brisbane used to be the Carlton Crest Brisbane. Its rooms have all been recently refurbished to a high standard and the beds are extremely comfortable. This hotel is very well located in King George Square next to the Town Hall and other tourist attractions.
3 Star Brisbane Hotels
There are not many 3 star Brisbane Hotels but the Hotel Ibis Brisbane is the best one available. It is not luxurious but has great prices and a very good location near Roma Street Transit Centre. All of the rooms have a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer and the staff are friendly and helpful.
